Collaborative Research Paper Writing Workshop Strengthens Publication Efforts Among Faculty of Computing Students and Lecturers
PEKAN, 28 April 2025 – The Faculty of Computing successfully organized a practical research paper writing workshop involving postgraduate students and lecturers at the Royale Ancasa Hotel, Pekan, Pahang. The workshop gathered 95 participants in an intensive academic writing retreat aimed at accelerating the writing and preparation of research papers for publication, particularly for submission to ICSECS 2025.
Unlike conventional workshops that typically focus on theoretical input or lectures, this workshop was conducted entirely through hands-on writing sessions, where participants came with initial ideas or drafts and were provided a conducive space to write, revise, and receive real-time feedback throughout the day.

Throughout the session, participants worked within their respective research groups, guided by lecturers serving as supervisors. The informal yet focused environment fostered productive writing and encouraged the exchange of ideas and writing strategies among participants.

One of the key outcomes of the workshop was a significant increase in the number of near-complete research papers ready for submission to the ICSECS conference or academic journals. Several participants also managed to finalize the core structure of their research papers during the session.
This initiative reflects the Faculty of Computing’s commitment to strengthening the academic publication ecosystem among its students and lecturers. Through the “write-to-publish” approach, the faculty aims to encourage consistent and impactful research output.
