Excellence Award Day Ceremony of Faculty of Computing for the 2023/2024 Session

Pekan, 11 October 2024 – The Faculty of Computing from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) recently hosted the Excellence Award Day Ceremony for the 2023/2024 academic session at Astaka Hall, Faculty of Computing. Organized by the Persatuan Mahasiswa Teknologi Komputer (PETAKOM), the event aimed to recognize and celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of students. Approximately 300 students, including students from Year 1 to Year 5 of the 2023/2024 academic session, attended the ceremony, along with supportive students who came to celebrate their peers' success. The event was also graced by the presence of esteemed lecturers, including the Head of Undergraduate and Diploma Programs and other faculty members.

The ceremony was officiated by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Adzhar bin Kamaludin, Dean of the Faculty of Computing, who acknowledged the accomplishments of students from various programs, including Bachelor of Computer Science (Software Engineering) with Honours, Bachelor of Computer Science (Computer System & Networking) with Honours, Bachelor of Computer Science (Graphics & Multimedia Technology) with Honours, Bachelor of Computer Science (Cyber Security) with Honours, and Diploma in Computer Science. Awards presented included the Dean’s List Award and the Anugerah Tertinggi Kecemerlangan, which is bestowed upon students who successfully maintain their place on the Dean's List for both semesters and achieve the highest GPA averages for Semester 1 and Semester 2. Additionally, the prestigious Anugerah Lonjakan Paradigma were also conferred, recognizing students demonstrating exceptional academic improvement.

In his address, Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Adzhar bin Kamaludin praised the hard work and dedication of the award recipients, emphasizing the importance of leadership, innovation, and resilience in the computing field. He encouraged all students to continue striving for excellence as they prepare for industry challenges. The event, adhering to a formal dress code, concluded on time, with food and beverages provided afterward, allowing attendees to engage in informal discussions and celebrate their achievements in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Excellence Award Day Ceremony significantly impacted the Faculty of Computing students by fostering a culture of achievement and motivation within the academic community. By recognizing magnificent performances, the ceremony inspired students to strive for higher academic standards and personal growth. It also strengthened the bonds among students, faculty, and staff, creating an environment of collaboration and support essential for their future success in the field of computing.
