Cyberjaya, 17 September 2026 – The Faculty of Computing (FK), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), strengthened its industry engagement through a strategic courtesy visit to Cyberview Sdn. Bhd. aimed at exploring potential collaborations in innovation, entrepreneurship, talent development, academic engagement, and research.

The UMPSA delegation was led by Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Nizam Mohmad Kahar, Dean of the Faculty of Computing, accompanied by Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Junaida Sulaiman, Deputy Dean (Academic & International); Ts. Dr. Zuraini Mustaffa, Deputy Dean (Research & Postgraduate); Ts. Azma Abdullah, Deputy Dean (Student Affairs & Alumni); Ts. Dr. Hoh Wei Siang, Chairman of the 5th UMPSA × HUAWEI Game Center Mobile App Competition (UXHMAC 2026); Ts. Dr. Nabilah Filzah Mohd Radzuan and Ts. Dr. Nor Saradatul Akmat Zulkifli, Deputy Chairpersons of UXHMAC 2026; and Ms. Miyuki Lee Jing Ee, Student Chairperson of UXHMAC 2026.

The Cyberview delegation was represented by Mr. Ang Kah Heng, Head of Innovation & Industry Development, and Mr. Wan Muhammad Najiy Wan Ali Saifuddin, Senior Executive, Innovation & Industry Development.

The meeting provided a strategic platform for both parties to explore opportunities for strengthening industry-academia engagement and creating meaningful learning, innovation, and entrepreneurial opportunities for Faculty of Computing students.

A key focus of the discussion was the 5th UMPSA × HUAWEI Game Center Mobile App Competition (UXHMAC 2026). Both parties explored opportunities to enhance the impact of the competition as a platform for nurturing digital talent, mobile application developers, game developers, and future technology innovators.

The discussions also extended beyond UXHMAC 2026 to potential collaboration through Cyberview Living Lab initiatives. Such initiatives could provide Faculty of Computing students with real-world environments to develop, test, validate, and refine technology-driven solutions while gaining greater exposure to industry practices and emerging technological needs.

From an academic perspective, the potential collaboration could support industry-driven learning activities, knowledge sharing, professional exposure, and opportunities for students to engage directly with practitioners within Cyberjaya’s technology ecosystem. These engagements are expected to complement classroom learning by exposing students to real-world challenges and current industry practices.

In the area of research and innovation, both parties also identified opportunities for collaboration involving technology development, solution validation, applied research, innovation projects, and potential commercialisation activities. Engagement with Cyberview’s innovation ecosystem could provide researchers and students with access to broader industry perspectives, networks, and potential platforms for translating research and innovative ideas into practical applications.

Student entrepreneurship was another important area discussed during the visit. Through exposure to Cyberview’s innovation ecosystem, mentorship opportunities, industry networks, and entrepreneurship-related programmes, aspiring student entrepreneurs could be better supported in transforming innovative ideas into viable technology-based ventures and startups.

The delegation was also introduced to Cyberview’s role in developing Cyberjaya as a technology and innovation hub. The discussion highlighted the alignment between Cyberview’s innovation ecosystem and UMPSA’s aspiration to develop future-ready graduates equipped with strong technical knowledge, entrepreneurial capabilities, innovative thinking, and industry-relevant competencies.

The visit concluded with both parties expressing interest in further exploring potential collaborative initiatives involving innovation projects, entrepreneurship programmes, talent development, academic and research engagement, and strategic industry collaboration.

Through such initiatives, the Faculty of Computing UMPSA aims to provide students with broader opportunities to learn, innovate, collaborate with industry, and develop solutions with real-world impact, while contributing to the continued growth of Malaysia’s digital innovation ecosystem.
